"WHITE BIRDS" New London Revue Fails TO BE PRODUCED AGAIN (SPECIAL TO "THE NEWS") LONDON, June 1. "White Birds," a revue which is described as the most spectacular theatrical failure in London of recent years, cost £27,000 before the curtain went up the first night. It was twice postponed and rehearsed for 10 weeks. The revue was shown last night, and did not finish until I o'clock this morning. Stallholders paid £3 3/ for their seats. Those going into the gallery 'formed a queue outside the theatre for more than 30 hours, and before the commencement vigorously "boo-ed." Critics unanimously condemn "White Birds," despite the fact that the cast includes George Gee, Miss Jose Collins, Maurice Chevallier, Miss Maisie Gay, Anton Colin, and other prominent artists. Mr. Lew Leslie (producer) admits that "the show is all wrong," but he is determined to put things right if possible. Many numbers have already been scrapped. There will be a brand new entertainment next week.
